TITLE/CODE Project and Safety Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: NDC Operations
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
The Project and Safety Coordinator is responsible for managing, directing and overseeing the operations and administration of assigned projects and programs within NDC’s. The PSC provides visible leadership, accountability and authority over high profile projects and programs delivered to Insight clients or internal leadership. The PSC works independently and exhibits a high degree of initiative in resolving problems encountered and developing recommended solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned. Management retains the discretion to add to or change the duties of the position at any time.
· Devotes 90% of time to leading and managing projects and programs. 10-20% of time on optimization and process improvement and efficiency efforts.
· Provides visible and accountable leadership that oversees the successful delivery of NDC Operations projects and programs for internal clients and donors; helps develop new opportunities for donor growth.
· Works with internal leadership to help drive best practices, standards, and methodology to the NDC and Regional Practices.
· Ensures Change Management Process is utilized in order to maintain compliance and effective customer service outcomes.
· Leads projects relative to milestone completion while managing both resource and financial under budget constraints.
· Develops and implements complete project schedules for all projects assigned.
· Monitors and maintains client and internal project executive satisfaction by engaging in weekly or monthly status briefings and updates with NDC management staff.
· Coordinates, creates, and leads SOPs, validation plans and test cases to ensure projects are completed from infancy state to implementation.
· Participates in and helps author, revise and modify applicable SOP’s and Change Control requirements.
· Oversees data collection methods, metric update for all safety aspects for the NDC’s.
· Develops, coordinates and delivers in-services as needed about safety , analyzes safety, incident/accident trends providing proactive solutions to reduce the frequency and severity of incidents.
Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others. Must comply with all applicable safety rules and policies and be willing to report actual and potential safety violations to the appropriate supervisor or manager.
Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in The Blood Center’s sole discretion.
Full time: must be regularly available to work at least 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, or such other days or hours per week as The Blood Center determines are necessary to meet business needs.
Overtime (applicable only to non-exempt positions)
Must be available and willing to work such overtime per day or per week as The Blood Center determines is necessary or desirable to meet business needs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, plus eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. PMP certification is desirable .
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
PMP Certification desirable.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business/ professional journals, technical procedures, or regulations. Ability to write reports and/or business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, other employees. Must be proficient in Microsoft tools including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, MS Project Tools and Smart Sheet.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Must be able to generate and manage detailed project plans. Must be able to manage technical resources working on multiple projects seamlessly. Must be an excellent communicator - both written and oral. Must have excellent customer relationship management skills and ability to interface seamlessly with sales staff. Must be able to run project update meeting with both technical and non-technical attendee's. Must possess leadership qualities and skills that motivate project team members to drive the project to a successful conclusion. Must demonstrate effective team collaboration skills and proven success drive acceptable customer satisfaction results.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Computer Literate (Safe Trace, Word, Excel preferred)

The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, or extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Job duties involved an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood with a risk of exposure to Hepatitis and HIV.
