Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center serves 170 hospitals and health care institutions in the 26-county Texas Gulf Coast, Brazos Valley and East Texas regions. Opening our doors in 1975, we're no strangers to saving lives. In fact, we collect about 800-1,000 blood donations every day. That’s why we need you to help us rise to the challenge of meeting our community's ongoing need for blood donations.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

This position is primarily responsible for managing activities related to scheduling, sourcing and conducting successful blood drives. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned.  Management retains the discretion to add to or change the duties of the position at any time.

In this role, you’ll:

  • manage all aspects of group blood drives, including marketing and scheduling, to maximize blood collections
  • ensure collection and production goals are met
  • conduct planning meetings with host groups to teach them how to be successful
  • attend scheduled blood drives, monitor and respond to issues to ensure drive success
  • analyze existing donor group activity and develop methods to increase their blood drive collections
  • source new partners to host blood drives
  • become the advocate for blood donations in your territory

The need for blood is constant, and that means our employees must be willing to work weekends and holidays as needed. Donor Recruitment Coordinators will regularly work at off-site locations and must have reliable transportation.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and at least one year of experience and/or training to include sales or relationship management experience.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others.  Must comply with all applicable safety rules and policies and be willing to report actual and potential safety violations to the appropriate supervisor or manager.

Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in The Blood Center’s sole discretion.

Regular Hours

Full time:  must be regularly available to work at least 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, or such other days or hours per week as The Blood Center determines are necessary to meet business needs.

Overtime (applicable only to non-exempt positions)

Must be available and willing to work such overtime per day or per week as The Blood Center determines is necessary or desirable to meet business needs.

Must be available and willing to work such weekends and holidays as The Blood Center determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

Must regularly be able to work at off-site locations and to either transport self or be transported to same.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university; and a minimum of one  year related experience and/or training to include marketing or relationship management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Texas Driver's License and acceptable driving record.  Must have reliable vehicle to transport self to various donor and group sites (mileage reimbursed).

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Computer Literate: Microsoft Office, scheduling software

Must be able to work irregular hours and days as needed

Must be able to manage multiple tasks
