The Workforce Specialist supports organizational success through workforce listening, talent acquisition, and compliance. The role facilitates employee listening programs, analyzes feedback, and shares insights to strengthen engagement, retention, and culture. It delivers proactive recruitment efforts for assigned high-volume and hard-to-fill roles, supports hiring events, builds candidate pipelines, and fosters community and alumni engagement. Additionally, the position ensures compliance with hiring policies, maintains accurate documentation, reports on workforce trends and recruiting metrics, and contributes to workforce planning initiatives.

In this role, you will:

Workforce Listening & Engagement 

  • Support efforts to capture, analyze, and report on employee sentiment across the lifecycle (from first day to exit) to strengthen engagement, retention, and culture.
  • Engage staff to earn trust, secure authentic responses and increase participation within the listening strategy. Carryout interviews in support of the strategy.
  • Translate survey and feedback data into actionable insights to support WFS recommendations.
  • Facilitate recognition program effectiveness (e.g., Rave) and promote strategies that boost engagement and employee referrals.
  • Assist in auditing and enhancing the Manager Engagement Program and Toolkit to help leaders effectively engage both new and existing staff.
  • Create and distribute reports as well as present listening strategy findings for assigned areas.
  • Utilize information from exit surveys and execute nurture campaigns to engage former employees as part of the GCBAlumni Club to secure rehires, referrals and/or blood donations. 
  • Participate in new hire orientation and engagement activity via presentations, projects and events.

Talent Acquisition 

  • Attract, recruit, and secure qualified applicants by leveraging proactive strategies, recruitment tools, and targeted sourcing methods.
  • Develop and maintain continuous pipelines for high-volume and hard-to-fill roles through diverse channels, including job boards, networks, online engagement, and community partnerships.
  • Host reoccurring Touchpoints with assigned managers to keep them informed and foster healthy partnerships.
  • Represent the organization at job fairs, colleges, HOSA events, and professional associations to expand visibility and reach, ensuring follow-up and maintained relationships.
  • Secure talent for monthly hiring events and other high-volume recruitment campaigns.
  • Extend conditional offers and support a seamless transition from selection to first-day orientation.
  • Collaborate on updates to the Talent Acquisition Process Map and contribute to recruitment policy reviews.

Compliance & Reporting 

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational hiring policies (OFCCP, EEOC, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate candidate dispositions, postings, and documentation for audits.
  • Track and report on employee listening trends for assigned group.
  • Track and report recruiting metrics, including search statuses, spend, source effectiveness and community outreach.
  • Contribute to long-term workforce planning, including Next-Gen talent developments.
  • Support annual job description reviews and updates with assigned departments.
  • Additional duties as assigned. 

 

We need someone who has:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in full-cycle recruiting, preferably high-volume hiring or staffing agency environment; medical or technical recruitment a plus.
  • Keen sense of customer service with an eagerness to resolve problems and support both candidates and employees.
  • Proven ability to capture and analyze data; prior experience with survey software, employee engagement, or workforce listening programs a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, OFCCP/EEOC compliance, and recruitment best practices.
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS, and Microsoft Office Suite; SharePoint and Canva experience a plus. Formal digital marketing experience a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines, manage competing priorities, and deliver presentations.
  • Demonstrated track record of sourcing talent and engaging candidates through multiple channels.
  • Prior participation in workforce planning, employee relations or employee engagement projects preferred.
