Reporting to the Consultation & Reference Manager. The position is responsible for personnel management, non-technical administrative and operational functions for the department

In this role, you’ll:
- Assist manager in ensuring strategic and operational objectives are met.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with staff members.
- Communicate expectations and accountabilities, monitor and track performance, provide feedback and coaching, identify development needs and help staff achieve optimal performance.
- Responsible for orientation of new hires and tracking their progress over the 90-day probation period.
- Responsible for writing and conducting the 6-month and annual appraisals with input from the leadership team.
- Investigate quality and customer service issues, assist in developing a corrective action plan, and perform adequacy check.
- Responsible for the management of disciplinary actions.
- Assist with reagent and service costing updates, billing, and departmental capital and expense budget.
- Provide support to maintain adequate supplies for the department.
- Responsible for communication and follow-through regarding equipment purchases, service requests, service contract renewal and termination. Route contracts for internal review and approvals.
- Timekeeper and scheduler for the departments.
- Assist with developing and maintaining statistical tracking, trending, and monitoring for Transfusion Facilities, hospitals, department, and staff metrics.
- Assist with scheduling Transfusion Facility training and retraining.
- Review candidates resumes and phone screens sent by HR, for suitability to advance to interview, as well as resumes for phone screen requests.
- Assists with non-technical operational requests.
- Enforces The Blood Center's policies on EEO, Affirmative Action and Safety/Health.
We need someone who has:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an operational management role, preferably in healthcare with oversight of 20+ employees.
PROOF OF CERTIFICATION MUST BE PROVIDED AND KEPT IN PERSONNEL FILE.
