Position Title: Purchasing Supervisor

Reporting to the Materials Manager, this position supervises activities in support of the purchase of materials and services used by The Blood Center.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Supervises daily activity of the Purchasing Specialist and provides support when Purchasing Specialist is not available.
  • Places Purchase Orders with suppliers and coordinates with A/P ensuring all PO invoices are paid timely.
  • Prepares and submits expense item bid packages for quotation to suppliers.
  • Reviews bid packages and make recommendations to the Materials Manager; assists the Materials Manager in contract negotiations and occasionally engages in contract negotiations
  • Oversees the Critical Supplier and Critical Blood Center processes.
  • Meets with new and existing suppliers and makes recommendations to the Materials Manager for new suppliers or changes to existing supplier’s products or contracts.
  • Enforces The Blood Center's policies on EEO, Affirmative Action and Safety and Health.

 

We need someone who has:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/ BS) from an accredited college or university. 

  • 3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience (7 years minimum experience without a degree).
