Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center has an exciting opening for a Training Specialist Coordinator! This position is responsible for developing and delivering training to employees throughout the organization.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop, deliver, and validate training and continuing education programs to train supervisors and staff. Examples include technical skills, leadership, interpersonal skills, customer service, life skills, regulatory (Current Good Manufacturing Practices, safety, confidentiality, etc.) and new employee orientation.
  • Teach at least 2 core training sessions (Screening, Phlebotomy and/or Apheresis) to assist with short staffing situations as needed.
  • Design and deliver training and job aids using all technologies available.
  • Monitor and report the effectiveness of employees’ training.
  • Evaluate training materials and programs offered by outside vendors and make appropriate recommendations for purchase and use.
  • Work with vendors to ensure the team has the needed resources to succeed.
  • Assist with project management and related tasks.
  • Process Training QIRs in a timely manner and monitor trends.
  • Drive changes and improvement with the CARE program.
  • Assist in the activities associated with the electronic Learning Management System (LMS), including manning the Helpline.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of training and training files.
  • Ensure Blood Center employees receive appropriate requisite training and competency assessment on an ongoing basis.
  • Manage and Maintain Annual Competency Assessment Program for all Donor Collections and Training Staff.
  • Provide assessment, evaluation, monitoring and support of all aspects of collection site (Mobiles/NDCs) as needed.
  • Coach employees on skill improvement.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

 

FOR CLIA QUALIFIED INCUMBENTS ONLY:

  • Perform training and competency assessments related to POCHI

We need someone who has:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in instructional design, organizational behavior, business management, human resources or a related field and 2 years of experience in designing, developing and delivering training; or, Bachelor’s degree in medical technology with 5 years of experience in designing, developing and delivering training.
