The NDC Manager is responsible for performing detailed work requiring considerable judgement in supervising the technical and administrative operations of neighborhood donor center collections facility.
This role is great for those who will provide a positive and engaging experience with the donors and employees by making them feel welcomed and value. Building a rapport and relationships that will encourage employee’s great customer service and donors to return frequently.

In this role, you’ll:
- Oversees the technical and administrative functions related to the operation of the donor collection facility.
- Ensures compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and regulations.
- Performs pre-donation screening, venipuncture, and post venipuncture care of donors in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensures accurate, legible completion of donor records in a timely manner.
- Performs necessary troubleshooting during technical procedures.
- Reviews and approves donor and operational documentation for accuracy and correctness.
- Maintains acceptable level of proficiency in required phlebotomy and apheresis procedures.
- Enforces The Blood Center's policies on EEO, Affirmative Action and Safety/Health.
- Additional duties as assigned.
We need someone who has:
- High School Diploma or GED, associate degree from an accredited college or university is strongly preferred. LVN/RN desirable.
- Two years of phlebotomy experience
- One year of apheresis experience including platelet apheresis
- Data analysis plus previous supervisory experience (one year) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certificate of Phlebotomy strongly preferred
- EMT Certification or associate degree in a related field strongly preferred.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, close vision and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and blood and/or blood components, as well as any other biohazard materials. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Job duties involve an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood with a risk of exposure to Hepatitis and HIV.
