Under the direct supervision of the Shift Coordinator - RRPL, position is responsible for selection, delivery and proper record keeping of blood components for designated research and recovered and source plasma clients.

In this role, you will:
Perform the duties of a Component Tech II as directed, including blood processing and component labeling.
Manage client requests, inventory products, and process orders for shipment.
Process, pack, consign, and ship products for research, recovered plasma, and products intended for further manufacture to a variety of clients.
Communicate with clients online and verbally, providing exceptional customer service.
Fulfill client orders to include acknowledging and tracking in online ordering application and computer system.
Ensure that orders are filled accurately with the right products for the right client at the right time.
Complete and ensure accurate product labeling, shipping documentation, and client specific coversheets and reports.
Manage and organize physical blood product inventories and electronic system reconciliations.
Always maintain appropriate product temperatures.
Monitor and maintain adequate supplies at appropriate temperatures.
Keep the work area and equipment clean and orderly and report any equipment needing service.
Additional duties as assigned.
We need someone who has:
High School Diploma or GED with 1-3 years work experience in shipping/expediting or a combination of education and training, preferably in a medical or manufacturing facility. Pharmaceutical, biotech, or plasma industry experience a plus.
Previous work experience in a regulated environment required.
Hands-on experience supporting audits, regulatory inspections and/or customer requirements a plus
Strong understanding of FDA, DOT, and IATA guidelines for biological shipments, preferred.
GMP/GDP compliance training is preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to blood and/or blood components, as well as any other bio-hazard material. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Job duties involve an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood with a risk of exposure to Hepatitis and HIV.
